So, lets begin:
The Next step is to decide what do you want to study in US, is it Public Health? Is it Dental Public health, Oral Biology, MBA, MPA, MHA and the list could be endless.
US has a very standardized system to invite you to study but they want to TEST you first.
Now what kind of TEST should you give. The tests could be SAT, USMLE, NBDE, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT and many more depending on the program you want to study.
What test is for you?
There is this brief synopsis about each TEST given below:
SAT : This test is for entering into an Undergraduate Program. It can be taken in INDIA and many other Foreign countries.
GRE: for any graduate program MPH, MS in Computer science etc including many MHA and MPA programs. It can be taken in INDIA and in many other Foreign countries.
GMAT: Tests your analytic skills for entering into MBA especially.(please note that there are some universities who want both GRE and GMAT, and there are few more which even accept you with your GMAT score.) It can be taken in INDIA and in many other Foreign countries.
USMLE: It is the US Medical Licensing Exam for Foreign-Trained-Doctors. For this program, TOEFL is not required. It CAN be taken in INDIA but not all the STEPS and in many other Foreign countries.
NBDE: This test is required for Foreign-Trained-Dentists to become a dental student again in one of the Advanced Standing Programs which is a 2to 3 year program depending on the university. This exam also CANNOT be taken in INDIA and in many other Foreign countries. See NBDE on Visitor Visa Article here
TOEFL: Tests your English speaking skills, almost invariably expected for you to take this exam along with one of the above mentioned exams based on your program of study. It can be taken in INDIA and in many other Foreign countries.
