What is ECE evaluation?
This evaluation will verify the marks scored in a foreign university and convert into a GPA format where the highest grade you get is 4.0. This ECE evaluation is important for you to apply to various universities and to various programs, including DDS!!
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATIONS (OFFICIAL) ..
One set of photocopies of all official documents, issued in English.
A. All official educational credentials issued in the official language of the country, beginning with the final year of secondary school (diploma, certificate, degree, title, transcript, grade report, study book or statement of marks).
B. Photocopies of English translations. You may prepare the translations yourself, as long as they are complete, literal, word-for-word, and in the same format as the original document. No English translations will be returned.
C. Subject Analysis, Catalog Match and Health Professions Licensure reports require a syllabus or other type of course descriptions to be submitted for all postsecondary academic subjects.
At any time during the evaluation process, ECE reserves the right to request the following: Original documents; documents to be sent directly to ECE by issuing institutions; and/or a plan of studies that includes the units, credits, or number of hours of instruction for each subject.

1. all four year marksheets and transcripts Also read about transcripts here
2. final year completion certificate
3. internship completion cert
4. degree certificate
5. transcripts issued from the college, of the 4 years of bds (sealed and signed)
6. a documented proof of any change in your name or surname in case you have after your marriage. (I dint send this, coz I am single ;) )
7. licensing certificate issued by DCI
8. a print out of the completed evaluation request form and...
9. a cheque of the amount
Now what kind of ECE evaluation you need to get for NBDE or dental programs?
You need to get "Course-by-Course evaluation".

COPIES: With your evaluation fees, you are entitled to TWO free copies out of which ONE comes to your residential address. Don't forget to enter the address of the joint commission of dental exams, so that they directly recieve a copy of your evaluation from ECE itself.
Now regarding the total number of copies to order, I feel 5-6 is a reasonable number.
Sometimes certain colleges require you to mail your evaluation report via ece, every time you need to reorder copies.

panks..i dint understand this "final yr completion certificate"..is it essential ? and moreovr...DCI license is not available to the fresh grads so early..so what to do in that case?

Thanks for your kind words.
Final Year completion Certificate is the certificate that you get from your College stating that you finishied everything including internship which was the mandatory part of the program and you will get teh Degree Certificate soon.
In short it is the Provisional Degree Certficate.
Also, Licencing thing is not really asked for in the papers sent.You may have it or not. They dont need any proof of that.
If you can have it, it always helps!!

iv just recently decided to give my nbdes
and am completely lost as to what has to be done
firstly
are the transcripts required for ece evaluation?
because i have all the other copies
and also do the copies be mailed to them or iv heard it can be faxed too?
and the copies need to be attested(by whom) or just non attested photocopies can do..

transcripts are required but need not be attested and can be sent my regular mail and/OR faxed.

Hi all, its written that we have to submit the Degree certificate along with other certificates for ECE.Im just going to finish my interns and the college authorities say that i will get the degree certificate only 1 year after the completion of internship. So how can i get ECE done.Plase reply.
Hi, tell the authorities to give you Provisional Certificate and send that to ECE. That should work. Make sure you get the Provisional certificate Stamped and send it in a sealed envelope to ECE.

anywaz jus wanted to ask that in the section on educational history they have asked to list all educational institutions attended beginning first year of primary school.. since being from the army background we had to move every 2 years my list of schools is rather long .. jus wanted to know if i need to mention all in the application ???
thanks a lot for this wonderful post..i have a couple of things to ask..i have received transcripts from the university and college sealed and signed..would it be fine if i send them along with other documents as a complete package??or should i ask specifically to the university and college to send them separately to ece??
Hey You can send all your documents directly as one package and University does not need to send it to to ECE.

It has to be signed and sealed by the the University/School if possible with signatures over the fold. I hope it helps..

i am a dentist from india,have recently graduated. m applying fr nbde this year,can u temme is it necessary to have the transcripts besides our all years marksheets and before sending them do v need to gt them attested by the principal or dean only, as m out of clg now n leaving for u.s soon,it will be cumbersome to get the things attested by the principal,if can gt attesed it from gusted officer will dat be fine
you have to get them sealed in an envelope and get that envelope signed by dean/principal only. The gazetted officer thing will not work unofrtuantely. Now each page inside donot have to be signed in, only the envelope on the top!!

i am a dentist from india,did bds from rguhs..now d question is that i have my transcript sealed wid my 4 year marksheets n provisional degree n a recommendation from d dean already sealed in dat envelope wid d sign. do i require anything else?? do we have to submit even the 10th n 12th std marksheets?? i have attested copies of my 10th 12th marksheets but by my college professor,will dat do?? and is ece better or wes?? or should i get it done by both?? and both require d same documents or different??
